The only downside is that it gets extremely busy during the summer. It’s common to wait over 30 minutes for your food during peak times. That said, the quality of the food and the amazing views make it well worth the wait.

Honestly didn’t expect much when we pulled into Skipper’s — it’s one of those places you drive by a hundred times and finally stop. Best decision we made all summer.

The lobster roll was ridiculous. I’m talking stuffed, fresh, on a perfectly toasted bun. My family went straight for the clam strips and cleaned the basket before I even got my food. We sat outside overlooking the water and just… stayed. Nobody was rushing us out.

The staff was genuinely nice — not fake nice, actually nice. Someone came out to check on us twice without us asking.

If you’re anywhere near Niantic Connecticut this is a must stop. We’re already planning to come back before the summer’s over. Skipper’s Seafood on Main Street is the real deal.

Classic new England clam shack feel across from the water. Solid all the way around, except for the clam fritters, which had next to no clams, just dough.

We stopped at Skippers after spending the afternoon in Niantic and were really impressed. The lobster roll was fresh and loaded with lobster, the clam chowder was excellent, and the fish and chips were cooked perfectly. The waterfront setting makes the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Niantic.

Skippers Seafood in Niantic is one of the best seafood restaurants on the Connecticut shoreline. The lobster roll was packed with fresh lobster, the fish and chips were crispy and delicious, and the New England clam chowder was outstanding. Great waterfront location, friendly staff, and consistently fresh seafood. A must-visit if you’re in Niantic or the Mystic shoreline area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is our favorite place to have dinner after spending the day at Rocky Neck Beach. The lobster rolls are outstanding, and the milkshakes are a must-try! We’ve also enjoyed everything else we’ve ordered; the food is consistently fresh and delicious.
